Head Injuries:

Bangs on the head are common, particularly amongst children. Few need the attention of your doctor. Bleeding into the skull is the main danger and can take place quickly, over 24 hours or very slowly up to six months later, depending upon the type of bleed involved. Common sense and the following advice will allow you to recognise if there is something seriously wrong.

Self-Help:

For a minor knock or bump, put on a cold damp cloth.

Sit the person down as they may be dizzy.
