Doctor Appointments

The Practice operates a system called 'Doctor First', which gives our patients same-day access to a doctor.

If you want advice about a health problem, or an appointment, when you call us the receptionist will take some brief details and the doctor will call you back for a telephone assessment. If, after speaking with you, the doctor thinks you need to come into the surgery, they will make an appointment for you, usually on the same day.

Nurse Appointments

Our practice nurses and healthcare assistants offer appointments at all sites on most days.

Extended hours appointments are available as follows:-

  • Saturday morning appointments are available once a month at our Morpeth branch
  • Late night appointments are available on Mondays until 7.00 pm weekly at Morpeth
  • Healthcare Assistant appointments are often available from 8.00 am

Practice nurses also offer telephone consultations to suit you.

Appointments for Baby Immunisations are at the following times:

  • Monday 09.15 am - 12.15 pm at Morpeth
  • Tuesday 09.00 am - 11.00 pm at Newbiggin
  • Thursday 09.15 am - 11.30 am at Pegswood (Starting 27.4.17)
  • Wednesday 09.00 am - 11.00 pm at Lynemouth

Valens Extended Access Hub

The hub is a new service operating from Monday 2 October 2017 outside of your GP practice's opening hours. It is run by Valens Medical Partnership’s multidisciplinary team of health professionals and offers a limited number of same-day appointments with GPs and Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs).

The hub is open every Monday to Friday evening 6.30pm to 8pm and on Saturday mornings between 8am and 12pm (midday). It will operate from our existing practice locations in Ashington, Cramlington and Morpeth.

Find our more about the Valens Extended Access Hub here.
